Gabriela Santos is a 23 year old student at Fox U, currently in her final year of a two year Masters in political science and international relations. Daughter to a Brazilian couple who moved to Foxville when she was still a small child, she's lived here long enough now to the point where she considers herself a local. Growing up in Oldtown though and seeing how the utopian dream of the city has failed so many of its poorer citizens, Gabriela developed a burning passion for equality and found her political compass moved further and further to the left. Along with some of her likeminded peers, she has become a prominent socialist voice on campus, frequently arranging protests, rallies, and other events to raise awareness of the plight of the city's underprivileged and to gather funds for various charities and causes. She remains unaffiliated with any particular political group, although the Socialist Party of the UNAR has been courting her for some time. Gabriela hasn't been a very easy catch however, asserting that most of the party's members are too moderate for her tastes, and pay far too much lip service to the interests of the wealthy and powerful. She's had a few run ins with the police department in the past whenever her protests have gotten out of hand, and the stuffy academic administration at Fox U consider her something of a troublemaker, but she's a popular, charismatic figure on campus and has a large following, and it wouldn't be a particularly good look to try and silence a young black voice in the progressive climate of the city. There are rumors that the only thing Gabriela is more passionate about than politics, however, is her love life. She's apparently something of a legend in the sheets, at least according to campus lore, with a string of girlfriends on the hook and a reputation for being a particularly skilled and attentive lover. If you buy the gossip, she's even gotten a few of them pregnant.
