But only if you know the right people, and play your cards right. The city has a dark underbelly, and you don't even need to look real hard to end up straight in the middle. You just need to be unlucky. None of the tourist leaflets will tell you that the number of missing persons cases in Foxville is staggeringly above the national average. The city's police will tip their caps and happily wish you a good day, but not one of them will tell you that they've got the largest backlog of unsolved cases in Virginia. Put your ear to the grapevine and listen to what the rumours and the gossip are saying, and you'll hear tale of taboo underground sex clubs catering to cannibalistic fetishes, of a thriving black market trading in vornographic snuff films, and of a shadowy cabal of the city's most powerful figures who are said to be involved in the most depraved and unspeakable acts. You can absolutely become a star here in Foxville, but you might just find that the price of success is a little higher than you're willing to pay. The city's every bit as dangerous as it is beautiful, and you'd be wise to remember that the next time you're out on the town, decide to take a walk in the park after dark, meet up with a stranger from a dating app, or simply make the mistake of crossing the wrong person at the wrong time.
