With the ongoing civil war ravishing the Japanese home islands, many Japanese refugees have found safe harbours throughout the UNAR, and Foxville is no different. While the vast majority of Japanese immigrants to the UNAR are well-meaning citizens, there are always going to be a few 'bad hombres' among them. The new socialist regime in charge in Kyoto cracked down hard on the Yakuza, and many of the city's oldest and most powerful syndicates were forced to flee the country or face the wrath of the new government. The Tashiro-gumi were one such syndicate, and have made their home in Foxville for the past eight years, primarily going discretely about their business as usual while extorting local Japanese businesses. However, unlike back home, they are not without serious threats to their power, including rival gangs who have been there long before they arrived and don't much appreciate their presence. It was exactly because of this sentiment that Eiko Tashiro, the daughter of the Tashiro-gumi's oyabun (syndicate leader), found herself thrown into prison. The family 'princess,' her mother Ritsuko largely kept her out of the day-to-day affairs of the organization and was in the midst of putting her through an education at Fox U when betrayal struck. Eiko was caught in possession of an illegal firearm, likely planted in her dorm as a way to get to her mother. The family lawyers expected she'd walk, but much to their surprise, the prosecution pushed for a custodial sentence and she was thrown into Foxville penitentiary for a minimum term of three years. The Tashiro-gumi are doing everything in their power to get her out and keep her safe, but prison is not a terribly kind place. Though not a physically intimidating woman by any means, Eiko has inherited her mother's charm and social acumen. The princess might very well have to learn to be equally as ruthless as her mom too, if she hopes to get out of prison in one piece!
